According to MAIA Executive director Frank Silverman of Orlando, Florida, the central theme and purpose of the College was to provide a platform for martial arts instructors and school owners to seek help from other martial arts professionals. Accordingly, participants had the opportunity to consult one-on-one with members of the College's esteemed faculty, which included Jacksonville, Florida's Bill Clark, Sacramento, California's Dave and Tim Kovar, and San Jose, California's Ernie Reyes, Sr.

Classes were kicked off, literally, with an Extreme Martial Arts demonstration by Los Angeles, California's Michael Chaturantabut and Adam Faldetta. Bill then attended seminars like "Instructor's Creed and the Philosophy of Teaching" that were geared toward improving instructors' teaching skills, as well as business management seminars that presented ideas for marketing and business growth.

The MAIA faculty guided participants through a series of role-playing exercises and hand-to-hand drills to demonstrate the importance of incorporating life skills into their martial arts programs and how to teach those skills to students of all ages and abilities. The teaching techniques taught at the College of Martial Arts include ideas on how to keep kids (and adults) smiling, sweating, and learning. Bill continues to incorporate many of the ideas he brought back from the College of Martial Arts into all levels of classes at Georgetown Martial Arts Center.

Bill had the rare opportunity to work out with retired World Kickboxing champions Kathy Long and Bill "Superfoot" Wallace!
