Under the direction of Tony Blauer, one of the worlds foremost authorities on personal safety, our instructors teach Personal Defense Readiness (PDR), a state-of- the-art program that addresses all elements of confrontation management. Whether in the boardroom or a dark parking garage, this skill set provides the tools to detect a potential conflict and defuse the threat or to take decisive physical action when necessary.
What is Personal Defense Readiness?
PDR is a system of psychological, emotional, and physical tools that prepare an individual for real-life street attacks. The tools collected through
PDR training are designed to prevent anyone from children to practiced martial artists from "freezing-up" when attacked and allow those with additional skills to access their own material under extreme duress.
In addition to our resident instructors, we are fortunate to have a PDR certified adjunct instructor, Joe Mullings. Joe periodically teaches personal self defense techniques, including PDR, ground-fighting, women's self-defense, and bully awareness for children in the form of special clinics open to our students and to the public. Joe also conducts personal defense seminars for our local law enforcement officials. Check the home page for upcoming and recent events.
